Sunday Grace: New Beginnings

February 16, 2014

How many times have you pulled back instead of pushing ahead, solely because you feared the shadows of what was in the future? New beginnings intimidate us regardless of how badly we want them. Fear immobilizes us causing us to  shrink back refusing to give the world and others our best.

With God as your Protector, there is nothing about the future that should intimidate you or make you fearful. The same God who calls the stars by name, who took a rib and fashioned it into a woman, who rose a man from the dead, and who parted the sea made YOU. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite verses in the Bible; in it, God speaks for Himself saying “For I know the plans I think towards you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

God’s futuristic plans for you are based on good; there’s no reason you or I should fear new beginnings. Embrace the unknown because you know God is already there. We may not see what His plans are beforehand but, when the time has been perfected we’ll see how wonderful they are.

This week, put fear aside. Start new, start fresh. The year is only 2 months old, there’s time for new beginnings everyday.

This really speaks to me, on this day. Fear is eatting my dreams, hopes. Sometimes it’s hard to believe! What is it that people see in me, that I don’t see in self. How do I get there father! My sister you’ve spoken to my spirit.
