The world beats to the gonging sounds of mufflers, rusty brakes squeaking at red lights, the chatter in between grocery store aisles. Sometimes, we have to slow down just enough to hear a little bit of nothing.
Psalm 46:10 says, “He says, “Be still, and know that I am God…”
Underneath the loud clanging sounds of life, God is beckoning us quietly to honor Him through stillness.
This week, I wonder how we can find stillness in the midst of our busy lives. Can you find it early in the morning before the rest of our household awakens? Is it in our car wheeling down the road on the way to work? Society teaches us that being busy is a blessing. That is bears its own fruit. It teaches us being busy means you’re accomplishing tasks. But, God teaches us differently. We don’t have to be busy because we believe in God who works on our behalf. So instead of working tirelessly we can work comfortably with the spirit of stillness beating in our hearts.
Start your week off with stillness and draw deeper into the presence of God as you find peace through Him and His Son.
